SUGGESTIONS FOR LAYING TILES

* Wet the tile before laying it in position.
* Leave a minimum distance of 1 cm between each tile.
* Do not look for a tight fit; the rough edges of the tile make it impossible.
* Do not stain the tile (cement, etc.) while laying it. If you do stain it, clean it as soon as possible.
* Be very careful when using dyes for the joints.
* Do not choose the tiles based on their colour owing to the tone variety typical of terracotta.

Laying terracotta floor tiles is no more difficult than fitting any other tiled flooring, so this will depend on your skill and experience. If you are laying unsealed tiles, then it is essential to allow the moisture to be released prior to sealing and / or glazing, and this could take several days. Moisture levels will depend on the depth and material of the subfloor, and the depth and moisture content of the tiles and adhesive, so take advice from your installer or supplier.

The colour and tones will vary from batch to batch so ‘shuffle’ the tiles for a mixed balance and expect minor chips and blemishes in some ranges; this is part of their natural appeal. Our terracotta tiles are handmade, 100% bioconstrucción.
