The houses built
under the Passive House and Bioconstrucción standard require soils that give an
effective response to the thermal and natural materials without forgetting
their technical and aesthetic level. In this sense, as pointed out by flooring
specialists, architects and builders, terracotta tiles, a natural pavement, is
a good choice for its thermal properties, easy cleaning, resistance to traffic
and multiple decorative possibilities.
Composed of 100% clay, terracotta floors do not accumulate static electricity,
which makes them repel dust and do not attract mites, something fundamental in
the health field. Also noteworthy is their easy maintenance and cleaning, they
are very resistant to traffic, so they are a good choice for kitchens,
corridors or rooms and even for outdoor pavements.
In addition, the terracotta tiles offer a warm, natural and comfortable
footprint, helping to create not only the warm and homey atmosphere but also
contributing to make the different spaces warm and welcoming. Not forgetting
that it is one of the best floors for the use of underfloor heating.
